I have been working on a portal which I have added to http://www.cqcountry.com/board/portal.php and want some feedback as to adding it to Galahs Corner. In particular I would really like to include it on GC with a similar welcome message and more so, the image that appears on http://www.galahscorner.com.au/forum/portal.phpThe portal that I am using (developing) still needs a few more tweaks to get it right but the basics are now all in place. I would like to hear your feedback on adding a portal page to GC thanks!

First impression is the banner is dull. I had to look twice to see what it was. The title on the page is dull too and needs something that someone looking for that type of community might "do a search" on, so your forum pops up. But hey, what do I know, very little indeed when it comes to setting something like that up. Rest of it looks fine.

Nothing really stood out, to me, on the page. It's all small and looks the same and has sooooo many words to read. And as Blue said, the banner is dull. Needs some colour or images etc so that you separate each 'section'.  Does that make any sense? Ok, had my say.  Good luck HG. But you don't need luck, you know what ya doin'!

First of all I should point out that the site you viewed I put together at the height of the floods here in Emerald so I didn't have a lot of time to work on it. That will come in time.
Secondly, it is the Portal layout itself that I am interested in bringing to GC but that wont be done until I am happy with it and I agree the text size is too small and will look at changing that.

I found that there was an awful lot to look at, which was a little daunting, to the point that I probably wouldn't bother to read most of it. With a few less things on it, it should be fine

I think the layout is excellent. all the infor a member would want is there and new members can easily navigate from there. The calendar and clock are nice additions. Yep once you add the galah stuff and do the pretty stuff it will be brilliant

Busy busy busy  I have been very busy over the last couple of days amending a number of things on http://www.cqcountry.com/board/portal.php to the point that I have changed the theme by installing a new template skin to give the site it's own identity. I have made minor modifications to the portal page (which this topic is actually about) and still have some work to do on it. Still it will give you some idea of what I am thinking of doing with GC in the future but it wont happen here until I am certain that I have it right. So now for you updated feedback please.
