You can already see where it is headed as I add a background image to the forum itself instead of the plain white background we have been used to over the last few years.

The current background is still only a "trial" atm and it will be toned down and the file made smaller for faster loading in the next day or so and then the white of the forum index body will be removed to allow it to show through underneath.

The purpose of doing this is simply to add a touch of colour to the layout of the forum which I hope will make it a lot more inviting.

The finished look will be along the lines of http://dennyshangout.com/dennyscartalk/index.php which is where I got the inspiration from. Denny will modify the current background for us and make it suitable for this forum.

I am trying to figure out why the background/border of the topic icon row when an icon is not used breaks as it does on viewforum.php page... not to worry though as I am sure I will fix it one day.

In the meantime I have removed the white background from between all the categories which gives us a "see through" look at the background.

If anyone is interested in playing with the current background in their own graphics programme I have uploaded the original in the General topics forum for downloading and you can also comment on the background there if you wish.

You can if you wish design your own completely different from what I have now and I will take a look at it.
